This site is operated by Mark J. Crawford. This page explains what information I collect, how I use it, and what choices you have.

What I collect

Email address. When you subscribe to receive the Decision Architecture diagnostic or Field Notes, I collect your email. That's the only personal information I ask for.

Analytics data. This site uses [ANALYTICS PROVIDER NAME] to understand how visitors use it — pages viewed, time on page, approximate country, device type, referral source. This data is anonymized and does not identify you personally.

Contact form submissions. If you contact me through the site, I receive whatever you write in the form along with any contact details you provide.

How I use it

Your email is used to send you the diagnostic, Field Notes, and occasional updates on capital allocation and PE operating discipline. I do not sell your email. I do not share it with third parties for marketing. I use [EMAIL PROVIDER NAME] to send the emails. They store your email on my behalf in accordance with their own privacy policy and Data Processing Agreement.

Analytics data helps me understand which content is working and where to improve.

Contact form submissions are used only to respond to your inquiry.

Legal basis for processing

If you are in the European Union, my legal basis for processing your data is your consent (when you subscribe to emails) and my legitimate interest in operating the site and responding to your inquiries (for analytics and contact form submissions). You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or emailing me to delete your data.

How long I keep your data

I keep your email address as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your email is removed from active mailing lists and deleted from the email service provider within 90 days. Contact form submissions are kept as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, then deleted within 12 months unless an ongoing engagement requires otherwise. Analytics data is retained according to the analytics provider's default retention period.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from any email by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of it. You can also email me directly to request that I delete your data entirely.

If you are in the European Union, you have rights under GDPR including access, correction, deletion, and restriction of processing. If you are in California, you have similar rights under CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, email me through the contact page.

This site uses cookies for analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will still function.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
